Sita-Ji, Apunbindaas and I have all commented on certain fight scenes that involve small children, and how NOT to treat them. Here is another example taken during the Telugu film “Bunny”:

Daydreaming Lotus 
Ha! My personal favorite is actually part of a dream sequence. “Aaj Madhosh Hua Jaaye Re” in Sharmilee (1971, Shashi Kapoor and Rakhee) – Rakhee is dreaming of life with Shashi, including a happy little bundle of joy, and he dances around the garden cradling the baby and then tosses it in the air AND THEN DOES NOT CATCH IT ON THE WAY DOWN. YES!!! That signals her cruel awakening to the sad fact that it is her sister, not her, who is going to marry Shashi and have the dream life. It’s jaw-dropping in its bluntness and is such a stark contrast to the dreaminess of the song. I love it! That is an EXCELLENT example. lol. It was a little hard to focus on the beautiful song knowing that was coming up. Not only that, now I’m intrigued about seeing the film. Thanks for your input!

Fantastic! Thanks for the capturing the abuse in these great screen caps! Love it, and you’re right, must add Varsham and Raja Hindustani to the list to document. Also, there are some pretty harsh scenes at the start of Amar Akbar Anthony with the tots that could be documented. Beth, I have to bump up Sharmilee in my queue after seeing that clip. Why was Shashi such a freak!?
Ha! He is imaginary in this particular case. There are twin Rakhees – he has a romance with the outgoing one, but the shy one (the Sharmeelee of the title) also loves him, and it is her fantasy that this song depicts. However, she is not QUITE so delusional as to think she will really get to marry him, so at the end of the song, her dream comes crashing in on itself as she comes to her senses and realizes that life is not to be. Or that is my interpretation, anyway. It is SO WEIRD.
I tried looking on Netflix for this one, but didn’t see it, at least under the two spellings (Sharmilee/Sharmeelee) My curiosity is piqued now though, I’d really like to see it.
